EUROPE: CDs, Shirts and Stickers

Hi Fedora Europe Ambassadors,

I wanted to give a status report on swag in Europe.

Alessandra Moraldi from marketing in Munich has helped me to get 400 
Live CDs created.  I will bring some of them with me to FrOSCon and 
we'll hang on to the rest to use at other events leading up to Fedora 
10.

Marek Mahut in Brno already has a bunch of Fedora 9 DVDs for us to use 
at FUDCon, so that is all set.

However, we need to talk about shirts and stickers.

It's time for us to try to increase our efficiency by creating some 
Fedora tshirts and stickers, and sending them to a few different 
Ambassadors throughout Europe.

The Fedora EMEA e.V. non-profit has sufficient funding (from memberships 
and also from the main Red Hat Community Architecture budget) to handle 
a bill of about 1000 - 1500 EUR.

I was going to email Joerg privately because he and I spoke on IRC a few 
days ago, but I thought it would be better to have the thread on the 
mailing list.

Here's what we need to do:

1) Pick a shirt design.

2) Pick a sticker design.

3) Get quotes from vendors on cost and quantity.

4) Make decisions on quantities and sizes.

5) Give shipping addresses.

6) Pay.

I know that we have some pre-existing vendors that have been used in the 
past.  Any volunteers from our Europe Ambassador group to start looking 
into an order?  I'm hoping that we can have stuff in time for FrOSCon, 
which is on August 23.

I'm just one other... and I think the NA Ambassadors should be paying
attention too.  Maybe there's a cool design we could use that's
l10n-able, to make them... I don't know, cooler?  More collectable?

I can't wait for my Ich liebe Fedora shirt!  What's the Russian version?
"Я либлу Fedora"?  Don't know, but I wants it!

But if we want produce Shirts with a (Fedora-) Logo; don't we need to
pay attention to the Logo UsageGuidline at

Personaly I like every design, every single shirt but I also think, we
have to ask legal if we don't harm the Trademark given by RH ...

What ever design we pick, we tell the Feoda Board what we want to do, 
and they will either give is clearance or not.  That was part of the 
original founding deal that we made with them.  I will help make sure we 
achieve compliance.

Fedora Board), be sure to hit up the fedora-art list, and we can try to get
the changes done ASAP. If you have any ideas for more t-shirt designs, be

art-team list. I am keen to help you guys make some awesome shirts, so this

Fedora EMEA e.V. is producing these shirts, correct?  They have a
trademark licensing agreement.

The T-shirt shown doesn't have our official logo on it, but I think
there ought to be one -- a small one on the upper back, or on one
sleeve.  That helps to keep the brand identification even though the
front has a completely different presentation of the word "fedora."

I think that single change would be sufficient for me to say, "Go for
it!".

Sounds good.  What do you think, Art Team?  Any chance you guys can whip

I agree - this seems to be a very similar model to what the NA
ambassadors want to move to, this thread should help us learn what

I don't know the price, BUT there is one isssue which can't be
diregarded ...
The Producer of DvDs has his principal office in the same bulding as RH
in Munich, also the production ...

So there are very, very, very short ways :-)

Alessandra is also in the process of doing a bank transfer of 2000 EUR 
from the Fedora/CommuntiyArchitecture budget to Fedora EMEA e.V., which 
will be used for FrOSCon, for a meal during the French Ambassador 
meetup, for the shirts and stickers we are talking about producing, etc.

APAC is beginning to have some events of its own and the CDs would really be
a great help.

I am new to this list.

But, would like to share,  I found some source in India, can get 500 dvd at
Rs. 4000.00 only with os written.

We are participating one International event at India, State - Gujarat ,
City Ahmedabad. , off course to promote Fedora.

We will distribute 500 Fedora 9 dvd as a KIT.

I found this source still searching the dvd stickers or print on dvd or cd.

Any body interested let me know. ( specially in India ).

It is a very good price, as long as these CDs are pressed and that their
paper cases are printed with Fedora colors and logo.
