Hi all, forwarding this message on to the Ambassadors list for anyone
who is in the upstate NY area.
The Rochester Institute of Technology's FOSS@MAGIC community is
organizing their annual hackathon on the election night in the US. I am
planning to be at this event as a Fedora representative. There should be
a fair number of people here (expected between 75-125), so this is a
great chance to help promote Fedora and open source software and
communities to students.
If anyone in the region is interested or thinks they would be able to
make this, please email me directly at jflory7(a)fedoraproject.org. Thanks!

With just 11 days left until election day, the MAGIC Center is excited
to announce that our our 6th Annual Election Night "Hackathon" will take
place on Tuesday, November 8 from 5-11PM (or whenever the results come
in) in Student Innovation Hall, room 1600.
This is your opportunity to watch the national and regional election
results arrive in real time while you "hack" the night away on current
projects or propose new civic hacking projects with new friends!
With MAGIC's 9 projectors, you will be able to watch the election night
unfold in a way you’ve never imagined-enjoying the celebration of our
200 + year experiment in Democracy with the RIT community.
Pizza and other consumables will be provided. The Election Night
Hackathon is sponsored by Red Hat.
