@Martin -- Understood about the host size limitation. How do I make the web ui show the information I put in the file? I have the file and I am using the conventions listed in the wiki but it isn't showing.
@Stephen -- Is there a way of pushing cockpit out to the hosts without installing the web service?

We are running an instance of Cockpit on a CentOS 7 vm. We have ~40 computers and we would like to add all of them to Cockpit. Is there a faster method other than manually adding it to the ui?
You can create an /etc/cockpit/machines.d/01-mymachines.json mechanically. The format is documented here:
http://cockpit-project.org/guide/latest/feature-machines.html
Note that Cockpit does not currently support having that many machines in the Dashboard, so you might run into trouble there.
