Hi, I have successfully installed FCOS in KVM from ISO. The command sudo coreos-installer install /dev/sda --ignition fcos.ign finished w/o errors.
After rebooting the VM I can see many messages in CLI indicating a problem:
At first I would like to change the hostname. Can you please advise how to proceed?
And what is causing the messages in CLI?

You can change the hostname by dropping in a file into /etc/hostname using Ignition I believe.

I think those are just chatty audit messages. See https://github.com/coreos/fedora-coreos-tracker/issues/220

Hi,
I'm not sure why I should use an Ignition file to define the hostname. What happens if I create /etc/hostname in CLI of the booted VM instance? Will this not be available after reboot?

If you want to interactively change the hostname of an already installed system you can do so using `hostnamectl`. Typically Fedora CoreOS systems are meant to be automatically provisioned which is why I advised you to drop down a file using Ignition.
