Yes, how about it? What's the point of booting quickly - or at all, if the machine won't provide any services?
Why would I install the desktop spin if I need those? Fedora has been taking the lets-start-any-services-that-someone-may-need approach so far. It doesn't work. Spins are a neat way to customize the default install for different sectors. The desktop spin should not install an MTA in my opinion. That's all I'm saying.
