Hi,
* What is the purpose of [1] in config/app_settings when you are
having an app_settings table in the Database?
The intention was to let the admin paste the date itself inside the
app_settings.yml directly. But that neither currently works, nor does it seem
to be a very useful idea. Removed it. [1]
* Why don't you use a JavaScript Calender? That will enable
easier
date selection, also will avoid errors when a user selects day 31 in
the month of September. ;-)
Yes, that has been done.[2] In fact a very pleasant looking jQuery based Datepicker
has been implemented.
I suggest implementing in other places also, for example where
the task deadline is chosen (where the same problem will occur and a larger number
of users (mentors) will be affected, rather than just the admin in this case). This
could probably be one of the improvements.
* Have checks such that coding start date cannot be before proposals
submission day, etc. Make it dynamic.
This has been done. Also a more trivial check is in place which checks if the starting
date is after the ending date of the timeframe :-) [1,3]
* Use different colors for different events in the Calender view.
Implemented. The colors can be added/removed/changed, and are uniformly picked up for
coloring events. [4]
* Do the task deadlines appear on the calender? They should.
Task deadlines can be put on the calendar, and this was the plan. However, some changes
are needed in the event_calendar plugin, and as I discussed with you, I was having
problems
with that plugin. I am working on it.
