Hi Spins SIG,
I'm doing a Fedora JBoss Spin as my GSOC project at the moment. Most of my efforts so far have been in packaging stuff to put into the spin, and only recently has there started to be enough stuff to really call it a spin. I'm still waiting for a few packages to come through the review process before I will submit the spin for review/wrangling(?).
If you want to have a look at what I've got so far, you can see the kickstart at [1]. Any comments or questions welcome, even flames: I've got pretty fire retardant skin!
Once the spin is submitted for review, can stuff still be added to it, or what's the process for that?
thanks Gerard.

Yes, though if you substantially change a Spin it is supposed to get re-reviewed. Note that a lot of time isn't being put into the Spins SIG right now by people.

Thanks for that Bruno, I can't think of any major changes that might be made to the spin once it's submitted for review; only inclusion of new packages, or new versions of packages, or other minor modifications.
Regarding the lack of activity in the Spins SIG, maybe when I get more used to how things work in it, I might be able to help with some things if it's needed :)

A couple of quick (I hope) questions about this, hopefully it will soon be ready for wrangling!
Is it possible to have custom desktop wallpapers? If so, what's the procedure for that, does a separate package get created to replace the default wallpapers?
Also, another branding related question. On the start screen for live images, where does the title come from for this? My assumptioin is that it somehow gets added from the --fslabel parameter, as that's the only thing that changed when I noticed the changed title (it might have been before that, without me noticing). If that's the case though, it might be doing some formatting that we'd like to override: On my current images, it's showing as Fedora Jboss (the b should be a capital B in JBoss - those JBoss guys are very particular about how it's spelled! :) )
Thanks in advance for any help you can provide!

Hi,
I added the proposal for the 'Java Spin'[1] to the 'Spins_Ready_For_Wrangler' category a couple of days ago, and I'm looking at the Spins process page[2] now, with a coulpe of questions: Is it too late for F18? For some reason that the feature freeze for F18 was 14/08 but I seem to have been looking at the 'software string freeze' instead. If it's not too late, what's the process to get it included, since there aren't Spins SIG meetings any longer (apparently)?

Theoretically it is, but I am willing to grant an exception. I completely missed the change because the wiki does not send out notifications when a page gets added to a category.

We would schedule a special meeting.
Kind regards, Christoph

If you could grant an exception, that would be fantastic! I would really appreciate it!

I assume I would need to be present at this meeting. I'm available any time!
Hi Christoph,
Have you had a chance to look at this yet? Do you expect that you will be able to grant an exception for it? Sorry about the noise, I'm just not sure if there's something I should be doing with it right now, or if you're looking at it.
Thanks!
