Actually, alpha freeze is non-blocking. What happened was a yum api change that broke our tool that generates the tree difference reports. It will be fixed today.
It would be a nice touch if the tool is broken that generate the reports a mail would be sent to the list so report readers now what's happening.
"Tool broken no updates-testing and rawhide reports until fixed"
