The RFE asks to include e3---which is GPL'd---as an [optional] component to FC. e3 can use EMACS-, Pico, Nedit, or vi-like key bindings, whichever the user chooses.
That's a lot of bindings. Sounds like a very cool editor.
If e3 were part of the "pure" FC distribution, people would feel more comfortable using e3 as part of a vanilla FC rescue or minimal environment.
The bugzilla comment from Bill Nottingham indicates this might not get in. Have you thought about getting it into Fedora Extras?
