Hi,
I'm using the current rawhide with Firefox beta2 and am trying to get the MathML stuff to work with it using the instructions set out at
http://swissnet.ai.mit.edu/projects/intelligent-book/mathml/#fonts-package
I've followed it to the letter (except used ttmkfdir -o fonts.dir instead of type1inst as directed on the site). However, when I come to test the fonts using
xset fp+ /usr/lib/X11/fonts/math-fonts/cmtex-pfb xset fp+ /usr/lib/X11/fonts/math-fonts/mathematica-pcf xset fp rehash
All I get is the error
xset: bad font path element (#88), possible causes are: Directory does not exist or has the wrong permissions Directory missing fonts.dir Incorrect font server address or syntax
I've copied the permissions from other fonts directories (755 for the directory, 644 for the contents). What seems to be the problem is that ttmkfdir is generating a fonts.dir file with the number 0 in it and nothing else (which looks somewhat dodgy to me!).
Before I log this into bugzilla, can someone else please verify this problem or just tell me I'm a pillock and help me work this one out?

Use the package in Fedora Extras
yum install mathml-fonts
-=- It does not install the mathematica fonts (legal reasons) but you can get the ttf versions of those fonts from wolfram (get version 4.1)
