Installing the Fedora MagicWand packages does not install MagickWand-config
I downloaded the ImageMagick sources, configured, and installed as root. Now the compile works.
But the program still won't run. ./2splot: error while loading shared libraries: libMagickCore.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

When you tried installing the Fedora package, did you use rpm or yum?
Does the source mention any dependancies (e.g. in a README)? What does "ldd ./2splot" say? Why are you running the binary from a local directory if you installed it as you say?

Curious as to why you installed ImageMagick sources and didn't install the fedora package ImageMagick-devel
I'm not sure what MagicWand is, but it appears to be a php API? Perhaps you needed to install the package php-magickwand. Otherwise I don't see a magicwand package in Fedora.

These sorts of things normally go into the corresponding -devel RPM. I don't see one for php-magickwand though.

Probably a bad idea..

No idea where that library comes from - I don't see it in the ImageMagick RPMs for f9 although it does appear to exist in the f10 packages - maybe it's new in ImageMagick 6.4?
