Downloaded and burned boot.iso today. boot.iso 27-Jul-2008 08:36 102M
on boot I entered: linux irqpoll askmethod
Method chosen was url.
Q. Why does it go looking for stage2.img, when it is included on boot.iso
Content of "trans.tbl: ---------------------------- F STAGE2.IMG;1 stage2.img ----------------------------
1:Can this be fixed within boot.iso
2: make use of mirrorlist for "development", rather that manual url entry

Read the Anaconda list archive for the past few weeks, it will probably answer your question.

google, site:redhat.com
b'sides, it's not _that_ big. Just follow the threads.

The needle is irrelevant, if you don't got the haystack.
google "site:redhat.com stage2.img boot.iso 2008"
But anyhow, the closest I could find to my O.Q. was: http://www.redhat.com/archives/rhl-devel-list/2008-March/msg00822.html
Because the code's buggy - it finds the stage2.img on the CD but fails to load it properly.
I guess that's the answer.

I assume we're talking rawhide? There's been recent discussion (and action I think) on getting stage2 from elsewhere. I would expect the fruits to be in rawhide, but not in f9.
