Rawhide 20080528 (I think, rawhide report incomplete).
Files are in /boot but don't boot and the following (hand-transcribed) error msgs appear after hand editing grub.conf to include new kernel and initrd:
... md: autorun DONE VFS: Cannot opern root frvicr "VolGroup00/fedora9" or unknown-block (0,0) kernel panic - not syncing: VFS: Unable to mount root fs on unknown-block (0,0)
Rebooted with previous FC10 kernel and tried mkinitrd -f -v etc and saw these errors: [root@P5K-EWIFI ~]# mkinitrd -f -v /boot/initrd-2.6.26-0.37.rc4.fc10.i686.img 2.6.26-0.37.rc4.fc10.i686Creating initramfs /sbin/nash: symbol lookup error: /usr/lib/libdhcp6client-1.0.so.2: undefined symbol: dadlist Looking for driver for device sda7 /sbin/nash: symbol lookup error: /usr/lib/libdhcp6client-1.0.so.2: undefined symbol: dadlist /sbin/nash: symbol lookup error: /usr/lib/libdhcp6client-1.0.so.2: undefined symbol: dadlist

I see in the yum log:
May 28 13:45:33 Updated: dhcpv6-client-1.0.17-1.fc10.i386
So, will try to revert dhcpv6-client and see what happens.

Reverted dhcpv6-client and libs and still get errors with mkinitrd.

Correction: .img file is only 50 bytes.
On another rawhide system, updated files one at a time and ran mkinitrd after each update.

However after yum update libdhcp6client, mkinitrd failed with errors and resulting .img file was 50 bytes.
Reverting libdfhcvp6client did not work.
Firefox hung while trying to enter bz, too late this AM, going to bed and will see what the world brings after the sun comes up here in eastern US.

Thanks, all is well now. Note: mkinitrd not in package list. Had to get it and nash from koji and then rpm thought they were older than the installed .f9 versions. --oldpackage solved that and the new kernel installed nicely and is letting me send this msg.

Is that nash needs to be rebuild against the newer libdhcp6client.....
