For the SMC model SMC2835W ("2.4 GHz 54 Mbps Wireless Cardbus Adapter") card, how do I actually derive or develop the WEP keys to use? I'm confused about that. Or do I just enter random hex digits in the keys? Thanks for any and all help.

You normally set the WEP key to be the same as your Wireless Access Point, AFAIK. Any random sequence would do too, though the WAP software should have a utility for generating keys from keyphrases.

Thanks! To start with I want to be able to walk into a T-Mobile Hotspot location and log on and internet while sipping my coffee. I can't remember if the Hotspots provide WEP security.
