But on another system rpm -qa gstreamer* gstreamer-0.10.19-1.fc9.i386
I get only gstreamer listed (and where are all the other Rpm's, that I am sure they are installed as I issue rpm -qa gstreamer-plugin* I get the list of all plugins'
rpm -qa rpm rpm-4.4.2.3-2.fc9.i386 on both system.
And the same command yesterday listed all gstreamer packages!!!

look in the directory you're running the command from on both machines.
do you see any gstreamer* files in those dirs?
if so the shell is expanding them out for the match.

rpm -qa 'gstreamer*'

The answer is above: shell-expansion A file gstreamer* in current directory. Prefer rpm -qa gstreamer* Or rpm -qa 'gstreamer*' to avoid that.

I had a small text file called gstreamer. Deleting it I got the full list of installed gstreamer packages.
I will use rpm -qa 'package*' command now on.
