2.6-test10 and ECN
by Nathan Grennan
I have found 2.6-test10.1.95, at least, has ECN turned on. This was
breaking many websites for me. Many firewalls are known to have issues
with ECN. One example is at least some PIX firewalls. Sadly it seems to
more corporate the site, the more likely it is to break.
Workarounds:
echo 0 > /proc/sys/net/ipv4/tcp_ecn
net.ipv4.tcp_ecn = 0 in /etc/sysctl.conf
Fix:
Recompile kernel without ECN support

Move windows between workspaces
by Matthew Brown
I have been a religious Windowmaker user for some time now but am trying
Gnome since I moved from RH9 to Fedora. In the past with Gnome I was
able to drag windows to the edge of the workspace to move it to the
adjacent workspace. The same functionality is in Windowmaker (among
others I am sure) and I was hoping I just haven't found the right
settings panel to enable it. If anyone knows if this is possible and
where to enable it please let me know. Thanks!
Matthew

Finding Where Data is Coming From?
by Nick Wilson
Hi all,
Is there a way to find out from where a data stream is coming from? -
Like if I'm listening to a music station online, can I find out which
url is sending that data?
Many thanks

Problem mounting FAT32 hard drive
by AL
Any thoughts on this? I have a second hard drive located at HDD and it is a
single partition 80GB drive. When I try to mount it as root I get the error
"mount: fs type fat not supported by kernel." I currently have fat support
loaded as a module. It shows up when I do lsmod, but its not in the kernel.
At least it doesn't show up when I do a "cat /proc/filesystems."
Am I missing something?

up2date -- advice sought
by Timothy Murphy
I am running Fedora on a number of computers.
To date I have "up2date"d each of them separately,
but this obviously involves download duplication.
So this time I gave the command
up2date -d --tmpdir=/opt/Fedora
(a directory I had created).
(1) Now I have the downloaded files in /tmp/Fedora .
I know I could just run say "rpm -Uvh *.rpm" in that directory.
But is this the correct thing to do?
(2) I'm not clear if up2date keeps a record of downloaded RPMs
other than the list in /var/log/rpmpkgs*.
Can installing packages "by hand", ie by rpm,
cause any confusion?
(3) Do the files in /opt/Fedora represent a valid "repository"?
If so, what entry do I add to /etc/sysconfig/rhn/sources
to make up2date look in /opt/Fedora ?
Also. if this entry appears first,
will up2date look there,
and then look at the "standard" entries, eg

evolution calendar problems
by Michael P. Soulier
Has anyone else seen this behaviour from Evolution 1.4, shipping
with FC1?
Any time I open the calendar, I get the task list. If I drag the
task list down, I finally see the calendar, but in yearly view only. I
can't get anything but a bunch of months all showing up. I can't pull up
the current day. If I fiddle around enough, the whole thing just
crashes.
Truly sad.

PCMCIA NIC
by David Cary Hart
Does anyone have a cardbus PCMCIA NIC that actually WORKS?
I'm using a 3c575BT which uses the 3c59x driver. While the 3c works
perfectly if I boot to WinXP it doesn't sync properly in Linux. I tried
a NetGear card and the Tulip driver locks up the system. Yes, I have
read all the docs on supported cards but I need a personal experience
recommendation at this point.
