"No Screen" error when running F10-i686-Live-KDE and Nvidia GEForce 7000M
by Chad Trotter
First off, thanks for taking time to read this post.
I am having an issue with running and installing the F10 Live KDE CD. I have spent several days reading posts about how to pull the correct video driver I need for this work on my wife's ACER Aspire 4520.
I am an absolute n00b when it comes to Linux. This particular CD will boot fine on my Thinkpad and I've been able to run Ubuntu and Kubuntu on the machine.
I'm not exactly sure where I need to go now.
Thanks for any help.....

Swap file size?
by Dave Bolt IT Solutions
I found some more memory modules to add to my test box, taking it from 256MB to 896MB. I notice the swap file is 512MB. Does Fedora Core 10 automatically change the size of the swap file or do I have to tinker?
Thanks

cannot login after adding keyboard layout
by Jerry Ro
Hello all,
I tried to do something quite simple in fedora 9. I went to System ->
preferences -> hardware -> keyboard and added a new keyboard layout. The
moment I pressed OK, my X-windows crashed, and I was back to the login
screen.
After that I can no longer login using my user name. I can log-in as root,
but whenever I try to enter with my user name, fedora 9 stops for a moment
pretends as if it is going to log-in, but then I get back the log-in screen
after a few seconds.
any ideas how to fix that?
thanks.

something about themes and widget
by Ambrogio
Hi all,
is it possible that installing and using some themes on KDE 4.2 (Fedora
9 updated) some widget stop functioning?
And sometimes plasma crash after adding a widget?
For example, I'm using Arezzo theme and I can't use Analogic Clock (is
added but not displayed).
I'm able to use, instead, the picture frame.
It seems that this started after upgrading to 4.2
Tnx

xinitrc
by Patrick Dupre
Hello,
Something that I do not understand
xinit is supposed to use /etc/X11/xinit/Xclients (or .Xclients)
but this script test the existence of:
/etc/sysconfig/desktop
but this file does not exists in fc10 !!
It results that the variable DESKTOP is not taken into account !!!
Am I correct ?
Thank

required "compat" packages to run 32-bit toolchain on x86_64?
by Robert P. J. Day
i have an install of f10 x86_64 on which i'd like to install some
coldfire toolchains, but these appear to be 32-bit toolchains since
they complain about not finding the linker /lib/ld-linux.so.2.
what is the required compatibility package(s) i need to install to
run 32-bit packages on this system now? thanks.
the actual diagnostic when i try to run the cross-compiler program
is:
"/lib/ld-linux.so.2: bad ELF interpreter: No such file or
directory."

KDE 4.2 update and sound
by Ambrogio
Hi all,
before to update I had no sound at login.
Only sound after a few seconds after login, and music at logoff.
Now, I think kde has solved some problems with my sound cards, and now
is enable to play sound at login.
I would like to know where to change the sound in KDE configuration.
I was unable to found in Systel Settings the place where I can change
the behaviour.
Can someone point me in the right menu?
Bye
