Fedora 13 & Exim MTA
by Jeffrey Ross
Trying to get Exim running on an F13 system, everything is configured
except I need to add one additional non standard port for EXIM to listen
on (TCP port 554) due to some ISP filters in the way.
Problem is when I add 554 to the list of ports for Exim it won't start up
and I get the following in the log file -
2010-11-01 16:03:13 socket bind() to port 554 for address (any IPv4)
failed: Permission denied: waiting 30s before trying again (2 more tries)
2010-11-01 16:03:43 socket bind() to port 554 for address (any IPv4)
failed: Permission denied: waiting 30s before trying again (1 more try)
2010-11-01 16:04:13 socket bind() to port 554 for address (any IPv4)
failed: Permission denied: daemon abandoned
according to "netstat -an" nothing is listening on 554. I suspect its
something simple, just don't know where to make the change.
Thanks, Jeff

PAE
by Patrick Dupre
Hello,
How am I update from "no pae" to PAE kenerl.
Even setting DEFAULTKERNEL=kernel-PAE in /etc/sysconfig/kernel
it is ignored by anaconda (from the DVD).
How can I tell to the installer to use such option ?
fedora 11, 12 or 13 ?
Thank

F12: pkgtags.sqlite.gz does not match checksum
by little.owl
Hi all,
I get the following message every time I run yum [search|update|info]:
"pkgtags.sqlite.gz does not match checksum"
It is a problem of update repository and any cleaning doesn't help. I
compared the checksum of my local file and checksum of the same file
downloaded from several mirrors and I got the same values. I am not an
yum expert, so I can't say what's wrong.

display
by Patrick Dupre
Hello,
On the same machine I have a fedora 11 and a fedora 13 installed.
On the fedora 13 I can get the resolution of 1280x1024 but not
on the fedora 13. I can only get 1024x786.
The same graphics dirver are installed. The same monitor type (LCD Panel
1280x1024). Intel integrated chipset (82Q963/Q965)
I even try to copy the /etc/X11/xorg.conf from one system to the other one
but without any success.
It seems that the resolution is set at the startx.
Or by grub ?
In both cases I do not have the rhgb option.
Thank.

Fedora Geo/GIS Spin
by Viji V Nair
Hi,
I would like to know if there is anyone actively working on Fedora GIS
Spin, if yes I would like to be a part of it.
If no I would like to takeover the follwoing and continue the
development. I have been working on GIS projects (FOSS based) for the
last four years. I have cople of friends with me, they are also
interested on the same. I think we can release a spin for the coming
release, F15.

Hi everyone,
I was trying to clean my /tmp with tmpwatch and noticed a really large

Anyone has any ideas?
