Re: Can i remotely pull a fedora desktop instead pull the navigator
from a fedora server ?
by Jamie Fargen
If you need a Remote Desktop like Windows RDP, then VNC maybe the right
solution. If you would like to do a screen share with a remote user maybe
something like Bluejeans or Google Meet would be sufficient.

I suspect the above is the result of translation, so I’ll try my best to understand.
It sounds like you want to use the file browser from GNOME remotely from a computer with no monitor? It’s called “nautilus” and can probably be used over SSH but you would probably get a better experience using ssh/sftp.

DNF update installing unwanted GRUB packages
by Ian Pilcher
I use systemd-boot, so I try to avoid having unneeded GRUB packages
installed. When I run dnf update, grub2-tools-efi and grub2-tools-extra
get installed, even though they aren't required by any of my other
installed packages.
I already have install_weak_deps=False set in dnf.conf.
Anyone have any idea why DNF is installing these packages?

fedora 34 and asus zenbook 13
by Kseniya Blashchuk
Got a new asus zenbook 13 (um325u). Installed Fedora 34 and everything
worked like a charm with kernel 5.11.12. After dnf upgrade (to kernel
5.14.9) got a black screen on reboot, tried to boot previous kernel
(5.11.12) - keyboard and touchpad stopped working, I cannot decrypt
the disk on boot. I am totally confused what's going on, does anybody have
any ideas? I have performed a fresh install again and upgraded the kernel
only (kernel, kernel-modules, kernel-core) and the problem reproduced with
both kernels.

All that tempts me to report a 'bug' but since there is no
'Chrome' in Bugzilla I thought I'd ask around here for
thoughts & opinions.
Google's map is in my case the most evident place where
Chrome struggles horribly, since the issues arose (I've
reset Chrome's settings to defaults too)
I think that system coming back from 'sleep' might have a
role in this - after reboot and until sleep I think Chrome
runs fine but cannot say I 'programmatically' verified this.
Right now I'm on 5.14.9-200.fc34.x86_64 and
google-chrome-stable-94.0.4606.71-1.x86_64 and in case
hardware matters, which it most likely does - I'm on Lenovo
e14 gen2 with AMD's 4500U.
many thanks, L.

Mat: how do I an a fourth menu?
by ToddAndMargo
Hi All,
Mate:
I have three menus on my launcher: Applications,
Places, System.
How do I create a fourth menu?
Please note, I am not asking how to add a item to
the menu. It is the drop down menu I want
to create.
Many thanks,
