At the initial boot screen go to "Troubleshooting" and then you'll have
the option to
start the Live Image in Basic Graphics mode.

All,
I think I should mention that the reason I'm using a live DVD rather than
the Workstation installation DVD is that I haven't yet worked out how to
do a complete backup of the pre-installed Windows that I can restore to a
virtual machine under F29.
Anyone who can suggest a cross-platform backup that will grab & restore
EVERYTHING from the factory image, please do. Thanks
