. I was never able to configure Fedora-28 to fit my needs, however Fedora-29 [upgraded daily] has gone much better and I have actually been able to use it for a few days. Now I find that evince has had its "View Options" removed. I use the the Inverted Colors menu feature to read pdf text.
Some googling produced a suggestion to try via a "gio" command, I tried:
bobg]# gio set /home/bobg/mozilla.pdf metadata::evince::inverted-colors: 1 gio: Setting attribute metadata::evince::inverted-colors: not supported
Is my command correct?
I tried dnf down grading evince, that didn't help. It's frustrating, I select programs that do what I need, always looking for high contrast white text on black, and then lose the needed features in the next version. I still rely on Fedora-27 to do what doesn't work here.
Is this evince function likely to be restored, hopefully soon? Any information or suggestions appreciated,
Bob
