What about adapting mirror manager to work for this? You could setup a process to verify
new vendors then when added to the list they are required to do some kind of update once a
release cycle. The modified mirror manager could then scan the sites in the list and check
for modified times.
You do not have to use the mirror manager example but a simple php scrip (simple for
someone versed in php) could check the sites and update the list according to dead links
or not.

These pages are highly outdated. Many does not even exsists anymore.
This is high time we need to think of a sustainable way to keep these
lists updated.
Ideas?
Also there is no contact data or contact person for LocalVendor page.
Does anyone have this data?
