Hi folks,
A bit of movement after last nights meeting, Elliot Lee has granted me cvsdevel access for kadischi, I already have pointers from Chitlesh for some things waiting to get into CVS, any more from anyone else? including KADISCHI in the title would be helpful.
I'm not going to rush to fix (or break!) anything especially as I've only got kadischi installed on FC5 not on FC4 yet.
Obviouwly kadischi on FC4 is still going to require patches to anaconda and I can't change that, but I hope to incorporate Jasper's patch(es) so that on FC5 (where anaconda patches are no longer required) patches to the kadischi are also no longer required by the user.
Bear with me ...
Andy.

Welldone boy. Can you update if needed how to login if you have an account here please? http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Kadischi#Download

Actually, kadischi is working fine on FC4 with the patches. Besides updating the documentation and uploading the spec-file, kadischi-nokernel.patch and newrpms-kadischi-userbuild.patch, I don't see much changes to Kadischi's cvs files;
Should we afterwards named it 0.1-1 ?
Im working on a special FC5T* page for kadischi. Everyone who have tried kadischi on FC5T* do have a look at it when im finished. Ill announced to the list once completed.

did i miss something?
Hi guys,
I was building LiveCD iso with Kadischi on Fedora Core 4 last day. After I burnt the iso into CD and test it. It stopped by showing a sequence of kernel error stack. The very early error showed that root= is not specified correctly, so I checked out the isolinux.cfg in my cd I found there is no root= setting in the file.
My question is: 1. When booting, the CD required me to enter boot kernel image ("boot:_"), I entered vmlinuz then it starts loading. Is it supposed to check the boot kernel image automatically? If that what's wrong with my built CD?
2. I found there is a grub folder there which confused me, which one is really in the MBR or both? What is that for?
3. The root error I described, should I modified ioslinux.cfg by adding root=/dev/hdc and rebuild using tools in Kadischi or there is something wrong during the process of generating iso? (Although it looks quite smooth)
Anyone could help me to fix the problem? Thx
Good day.

You shouldn't have to type anything, if you just press enter the default option is bootstrapped, which is "Linux".

That folder should have splash.xpm.gz in it, which is the Grub splash screen though it isn't used.

No. root happens to be /dev/loop1. The LiveCD scripts do this for you.
What you would be better off doing is posting a log of the error, or some other information for us to get a better look at it.

The kadischi-nokernel.patch needs to go into CVS, regardless of the Fedora Core platform. I'll be submitting a patch to the Anaconda devs later, hopefully it'll get accepted, at which time kadischi-fc5tx.patch can also be merged.
These files can be found in the bugzilla, just do a search for "Kadischi".

OK, sorry I've been a bit quiet since having been given the kadischi "CVS reins" but I've been travelling for a few days and turned out to have patchier net access than I was expecting.
Anyway I plan to tag the current CVS (if it hasn't been done already) as a line in the sand, and then start testing and commiting patches into head, from a quick look at a couple of them I'm going to need to make some conditional on FC5T2 so as not to break FC4.

Right. I totally agree. The kadischi-fc5tx.patch and kadischi-mkinitrd.patch (Should be listed in Bugzilla) are both quick patch jobs but yes, they are FC5tx specific.

hello there, as Jasper said these 2 patches are mostly welcome in the CVS along as the docs files in Kadischi/Development
Could you inform us afterwards, so that I can do some clean ups in the Kadischi/Development wiki page?
