I may have spoken too soon. Interesting issue though. By installing the
correct i386 library I was able to run the Citrix client via my web browser
- I am unable though to run the client by itself. If I run
/usr/lib/ICAClient/wfcmgr - I get this error:
*/usr/lib/ICAClient/wfcmgr: error while loading shared libraries:
libXm.so.3: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory*
So after some poking around, I found that OpenMotif is supposed to have
libXm.so.3 library. I install both i386 and x86_64 packages from
ftp://ftp.ics.com/openmotif/2.3/2.3.1/, which I got that link directly from
http://www.motifzone.net/.
I tried to run it after that and got the same error. So; I uninstalled then
reinstalled the Citrix client, but I'm still getting the same issue. I've
tried 4 different version of openmotif and I'm still getting the same error.
*openmotif-2.2.3-2.i386.rpm

openmotif-2.2.4-0.1.i386.rpm

openmotif-2.3.1-1.fc9.i386.rpm

openmotif-2.3.1-1.fc9.x86_64.rpm
openmotif-devel-2.3.1-1.fc9.x86_64.rpm*
Please help me understand this library issue. Thanks.

Xsane seg. fault -
by Bob Goodwin
I need to copy a document this morning with the HP Scanjet 5370C form
this up to date F-10 computer. The scan function worked without a
problem in F-9, "out of the box" I believe? Now I am getting the
following error message:
(xsane:16823): Gtk-WARNING **: GtkSpinButton: setting an adjustment
with non-zero page size is deprecated
Segmentation fault
Is there something else I need to do? I don't use the scanner often but
need it now.

How do I get the flash plugin to use pulseaudio?
by NMONNET
It doesn't seem to work for me, despite what http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/
Flash says: it always tries to talk to the sound card directly, even with
alsa-plugins-pulseaudio.
Here's my /etc/asound.conf:
#
# Place your global alsa-lib configuration here...
#
@hooks [
{
func load
files [
"/etc/alsa/pulse-default.conf"
]
errors false
}
]
I have no .asoundrc
THanks for your help.

When downloading Gutenprint drivers for Fedora,
do you get the Gutenprint or gutenprint-cups or both.
My printer is a new Epson-RX595 and Fedora 10 doesn't have driver for it.
Gutenprint has driver for it,

F11: Mounting USB stick or CDROM suddenly need root password
by Rick Wagner
This worked after I originally installed Fedora 11: If I plugged in a USB
stick or inserted a CD/DVD ROM, the new device notifier would inform me, and
allow me to open in Dolphin (as well as other choices). If I selected the
"Open in Dolphin", it would do just that.
As of recently, when I try to open, a dialog pops up asking for root password.
Same when I select "Safely remove". If I enter the password, things proceed
as desired.
This behavior appears to shown up about the time I had sound permission
problems. Resolved the sound problem by modifying
security/console.perms.d/50-default.perms to add:
<sound>=/dev/snd/*
<console> 0600 <sound> 0600 root
These same two behaviors (sound and mount) showed up for me mid-life in
Fedora-8 too. The same fix resolved the sound problems then, and I lived with
entering the root password for USB devices until I finally upgraded to F11. It
was joy when device mounting worked again, however short lived.
Any thoughts on this?

Fedora 8 mailserver: receiving ALMOST no mail from this list
by Steven P. Ulrick
Hello Everyone
For quite a while I have been running a mail server (sendmail) on a Fedora 8
system with no apparent problems.
Now I have a new system (Fedora 11) and I access my email from that system
using an IMAP account set up in KMail.
Unfortuantely, I have been seeing a RADICAL decrease in mail that I receive
from (at least) this list. We are talking that in the same time that I
received right around 70 messages from this list on my Gmail account I only
received 5 in my afolkey2.net (that is my domain name) subscription to this
list.
Here are all the details that I can think of that may be relevant:
1. My internet provider is Comcast. Other than this issue (which may be
unrelated to being on Comcast) my service from them is excellent.
2. I have "define(`SMART_HOST',`smtp.comcast.net.')" set as my smart host in
"/etc/mail/sendmail.mc"
3. The cable from Comcast connects to a Linksys cable modem and the Fedora 8
and Fedora 11 systems that are on this network are connected to a Linksys
router that is connected to the modem.
4. Also, I know for a fact that I do NOT have a static IP address. This has
not as of yet caused any know problems (though this issue may be the first...)
So, any help you can give me in figuring this out is greatly appreciated.
Thank You,
Steven P. Ulrick

Is there a Wall message for GNOME or KDE
by Leslie S Satenstein
I would like to send an alert about a system change or an alert to all gnome users that the system is going offline for maintenance at a certain time.
What is the equivalent to the wall function that pops up a window in kde or gnome with the message in a window that must be acknowledged.

Error Summary
It appears that when a new kernel in the updates repo appears, yum tries to update to it
despite the fact that the update-testing repo contains a new series of kernels (2.6.27.2.72
vs 2.6.29.x). Isn't this a flaw in yum? Shouldn't it realize that the updates-testing repo's
kernel has provided a newer version and not attempt to install the older on from the updates
repo at all?
